Charles T. “Chuck” Doyle is Founding Director and Chairman Emeritus of Texas First Bank and Chairman of Texas Independent Bancshares. He is retired from the Boards of Visa U.S.A., Visa International, Inovant, Certegy, and Q2 eBanking. He served as the first community banker on the Federal Advisory Council to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C., 1996 to 1998 and served six years as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas.
He was the organizing director of The Independent BankersBank and served on the Board of Directors for ICBA for twelve years. In 2015, he was inducted into the Texas Bankers’ Hall of Fame.
Community
Doyle has served the community in many ways, including as Mayor of the City of Texas City. After retiring as Mayor, he founded the “LEADS” high school leadership development program still offered to Galveston County schools today. He was formerly Chairman of the Board of St. Mary’s Hospital in Galveston and served on the Board of Directors of CHRISTUS Health Gulf Coast.
He and his wife have been honored recipients of the 2010 Community Enrichment Award presented by the Grand 1894 Opera House, 2019 Salvation Army Champions of Hope Award, and 2020 Citizens of the Year by The Daily News. He’s been named Citizen of the Year three times - by The Galveston County Daily News, Texas City Sun, and Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he was named “Citizen of the Century” Award by The Galveston County Daily News in 2000.
Education
Doyle holds a BBA in Management and Economics from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from the University of Houston.
