Texas Independent Bancshares (TIB) is the parent company of Texas First Bank and Texas First Insurance – two organizations with roots going back over fifty years in Galveston County. Ardell has served as a Director on the Board of Texas First Bank, owned by Texas Independent Bancshares, since 2005. She currently serves as Chair of the Asset/Liability Committee and Vice Chair of the Audit Committee for Texas First Bank, as well.
Ardell retired from Banc One Securities Corporation as Vice President and has worked as an investments and asset/liability management consultant for community banks since.
Born and raised in Nocona, Texas, Ardell received her bachelor’s degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, in 1974 and a master’s degree from The University of Texas in Austin in 1975. She is a Trustee of Austin College and a Ruling Elder of St. Philip Presbyterian Church in Houston. She serves on the Board of the Texas Presbyterian Foundation and is a Trustee for the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Ardell and her husband, Bob, have two daughters and four grandchildren. Her interests include genealogy, creative writing, and beach-time in Galveston.
