Beware of Misleading Mail Scam: Texas UCC Statement Services

Accounts, Cybersecurity, Fraud

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has issued an alert to help consumers steer clear of yet another deceptive and unethical company practice. There have been numerous complaints filed against Texas UCC Statement Services for sending out purposely misleading mailers in order to unnecessarily collect money from consumers.UCC Scam Example

We have also gotten reports from our own customers, who have received mail from the Texas UCC Statement Services, claiming that a fee (usually $90) is owed in relation to documentation on an existing loan. In an attempt to establish legitimacy and get you to send the money, they are misusing disclaimers to trick consumers into thinking it’s from an official government agency.

This mail IS NOT from an official government agency and IS NOT affiliated with Texas First Bank nor any payments owed on loans you may have with us.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your banker. We are happy to help with whatever questions you have or documentation you may need. If you have received a form that looks like this, please report it. Staying up-to-date on the latest schemes and taking that extra step to report them helps keep families and businesses safe from falling victim to fraud.
